Treat Your Dad This Father's Day

It's time to think about how to make your dad feel like the most special man in your life!

Since Father's Day falls at the start of the summer - Sunday June 15th in the UK this year - there are plenty of options to do something with your dad in the great outdoors (providing the great British weather improves!). Father's Day is a chance for all dads to spend quality time with their children, and there are plenty of things that will be fun for everyone. Visiting a local farm, buying your dad half an hour in a race car or even going for a picnic will be fun for all dads with their sons or daughters, no matter their ages.

If you have young children, encourage them to create homemade cards and even presents for their dad. Simple things like a letter holder made out of an empty butter tub or a magazine rack made out of a decorated shoebox can be very touching. All dads want to be pampered on Father's Day, so encourage the kids to bring their dad breakfast in bed (or to help you cook it!).

Don't forget about granddads either - there's no reason why you can't give a gift or some extra attention to a dad who's a few decades older than your own dad! Make the best of the opportunity to get three generations together - go out for lunch, cook a meal at home or visit the cinema or theatre together.

Father's Day needn't only be limited to your biological dad. You can also use it as a perfect opportunity to lavish affection on your stepfather or another special man in your life who's given you guidance and support over the years. Don't worry - no one would be offended to be thanked!
