Celeb Perfumes

Smell as good as the stars

Celebrity fragrances have had a boom in recent years, and while we admit that some of them aren't quite up to Chanel standards, there are some that are genuinely worth splashing out on.
As well as allowing us normal folk to apply a little bit of star glamour to our daily lives, fragrances have also helped to net a lot of cash for the celebrities that help create them.
Here we take a look at some of the top selling celeb perfumes.

Britney Spears

Britney's increasingly crazy escapades certainly haven't affected people's willingness to buy her perfumes. The wild child has released six fragrances since 2004, with the first one - Curious - winning awards and outselling all other celeb scents that year! Sweet and girlie, Britney's perfumes embody the old Brit - fun, flirty and cute. How things change...

Kylie Minogue

Foral and light, Kylie's 'darling' perfume is made with passion fruit, freesia and lychee and designed to reflect her multifaceted personality. She has also released two other scents - Showtime and Sweet Darling - which have had huge success in Australia and Europe, proving that women the world over are keen to have a bit of the Kylie charm in their lives!

Sean Combs

Last year, P Diddy sold $75 million worth of his signature scent for men, Sean John Unforgivable, making it one of the best selling celeb fragrances on the market. Perhaps he swapped tips with his friends and fellow owners of a fragrance line Victoria and David Beckham!

Paris Hilton

Unlike most female celebs that bring out perfume lines, Paris Hilton's four fragrances also come in male versions - meaning your man can smell as good as an heiress too, if he wants! With a high profile launch of her latest scent Can Can at Selfridges in London in May, the socialite's fragrance empire shows no signs of slowing down!

Jennifer Lopez

When J-Lo released Glow in 2002, describing it as a 'fresh-sexy-clean' scent, she became one of the first celebs to have major success with a perfume launch. Even though her recent movie and music ventures haven't been met with success, sales of her perfumes are certainly keeping her bank balance topped up - she herself has made $77 million from them!

Sarah Jessica Parker

Everyone's favourite city-girl released her first perfume, Lovely, two years ago, and despite having a rather heavy smell, it was an instant hit. She quickly followed up its success with a discount clothing line called Bitten, with every item costing under $20 - so now you can smell and look as good as SJP for a fraction of the cost!

With so many celebrities launching perfumes, the danger of course is that once the celeb falls out of public favour, endless bottles of their scent remain unsold on the shelves (we mean you, Jade Goody!). But with their promise of charisma and gorgeousness, we can't help but love celeb perfumes - spritz your way to glamour, we say!
