School Leaving Age Raised to 17

Schoolchildren in England to study for an extra year

The school leaving age for students in England is now 17. The laws about this last changed in 1972, when the age was raised from 15 to 16. And in 2015, the age at which children must stay in education will be raised to 18!

This decision was made to help school leavers enter the world of work or further education with more skills and expertise.

If you have teenage children that have just started at secondary school, you probably will have heard their moans and groans about the news already!

   School's out for summer -
but only once you've turned 17!

It's calm September with Back to School Month at 888ladies!
