Animal print is back! We show you how to wear it without losing your fashion cred

Along with gold lame and PVC, leopard print seemed to have been firmly locked away in the 80s fashion files and labelled: "Must not wear. Ever. We mean it." But against all the odds, it's now back filling the red carpets and our favourite high street stores, with the likes of Claudia Schiffer (pictured) big fans. And you know what, this time around we rather like it!

That's not to say it's easy to pull off though-it's terrifyingly easy to end up looking more Bet Gilroy than Beyonce Knowles. So here 888ladies shows you three ways to wear animal print without resembling roadkill.

A subtle print

Things have moved on from the 80s and there's a lot more than leopard, tiger or zebra print out there to choose from, thank goodness. We really love ikat print, which has more of a tribal edge and comes in black-and-white rather than the traditional browns.

Accessories only

If the idea of wearing animal print head-to-toe brings you out in a cold sweat, then make full use of it in accessories, adding great detail to a killer look. Don a printed headscarf, heels or a belt with a simple black outfit and you'll still make a style statement while looking chic..

Loud and proud

If you've got the confidence to wear full-on print, there are some hot items out there right now. Wear a pussy bow blouse with a pencil skirt for a 50s retro edge or shift dress with black tights. Remember though, overkill is a danger so if you're wearing a leopard print dress, you may want to leave the tights, shoes and coat at home!

Undercover animal

If you want to add a little 'Grrrr' to your underwear drawer, animal prints are now chic and tasteful, with many big designers and high street names getting in on the act. Make sure you match the set though zebras and tigers don't mix in the wild or on your body.
